The HISTORICAL CENTER
and the CHURCHES
of PESCHICI
The historical center can be reassumed in three terms:
ART and HISTORY during the days
POEM in the night.
Represent the heart pulse of the country, the ideal place for evening ice cream and the coolness that comes from sea.
The tenuous lights of night that seems a theatrical romantic representation.
During the day the alleys that separate the typical whitest constructions from the blue of the sea, seems a picture but in reality it is Peschici.
Little tipical shops, many and deeply different for the products are a continuous unbridled temptation to the shopping, because the native produce, souvenires or foods are indeed unique pieces of quality and all of handicraft realization.
Peschici it is indeed difficult to describe without to risk to daydream but what you had read is pure truth.
Undoubtedly deserves a note the Church of the Madonna di Loreto, the Church of Sant'Antonio, the Church of the Purgatory and to half road between Peschici and Vieste the Church of Saint Maria of Merino.

The festivity previews a procession to which it follows a magnificent fire arts show .

Lesina
San Primiano Martire: he is the Saint Patron of Lesina. The community celebrates in its honor from the 14 to the 16 May.

San Giovanni Rotondo
Death of Devout Father Pio – Festivity Liturgical of San Pio from Pietrelcina: 23 September (Devout Father dies in 2002).
20 September: the Festivity remembers the delivery of the keys of the city to Pio.

Manfredonia
Procession of S.Andrea: the first September the statue of the saint comes transported in the gulf. It is possible to admire the fleet of the fishings boat of the città.<

Mattinata
Patronal festival: dedicated to Saint Maria of the Light, 14-15-16 September. Every year, to the term of the festivity a fire arts show pirotecnical.<

Monte Sant’Angelo
San Michele Archangel: it is the patronal festivity and it is, sure, the most important event of the year for the micaelica community of Mount Sant'Angelo. The festivity is long various days, from the 27 September to 2 October.

BEACHES of PESCHICI
Peschici is nominated like Pearl of Gargano and has this assignment undoubtedly to the charming image of its quite beaches of fine and golden sends as you can see from the video here on left.

PANORAMICS of PESCHICI

The UMBRA FOREST
If Peschici and the Tremiti Islands are the maximum expression of that the nature is in a position to making with sea and reef, the Umbra Forest is those that more better could make with vegetation and plants.
An immense naturalistic park in every sense like dimension with its 10,500 wild hectares that like contents.
Plants of beech, in smaller measure maple trees, hornbeam, smaller oaks, linden , holm and black species, pines, chestnut trees, firs and ashen.

In conclusion a place where it is searched purest and respectful contact with the nature therefore absolutely prohibits hunting and fishing.
Large and perfectly organized areas picnic but to respect deeply with the clean and the observance of the rules of cohabitation with mother nature.
Uno splendid small lake makes like "small cherry on the cake"

SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO
Known religious locality of international level is the center that accommodates the sepulchre of DEVOUT FATHER from PIETRALCINA in which Saint PIO historical center has dwelled for 52 years.
It guards also an interesting historical quarter that the ancient origin testifies Norman and that one still more ancient than Roman origin.
It givea hospitality to several oases of Franciscan spirituality, the Sanctuary of DEVOUT FATHER, that one of S.MARIA and WAY CRUCIS with interesting bronzee works of the sculptor Francisco Messina and the numerous Works of the Extraordinary Adventure of the Christian Charity, strongly intentional, planned and realized from Saint PIO from Pietralcina.
Don't foget to visit the monastery of the Clarisse on Mount Castellano where the Saint Frate was usual to withdraw itself in prayer.

MONTE SANT'ANGELO
In the inland of Gargano, to approximately an hour of road from Peschici, through the Umbra forest can arrive to
Monte Sant'Angelo
(14,000 inhabitants)
The city is important goal of pilgrimage, well known is the visit to the cove of Saint Michele today Sanctuary.
